Hair Problems

For many women our hair is our most treasured asset, we invest so much time and effort into keeping our hair beautiful, that when we have a problem with it we can be devastated.

What are hair problems?

From Hairloss to dandruff and head lice to graying, there are many thing that can affect our hair, and how we feel about it, and thankfully most of them are easily treatable.

Dandruff? in most cases a medicated shampoo will suffice.

Headlice?
Again a quick visit to your pharmacist should help clear this up

Gray hair can be extremely beautiful and if you don't agree having your hair colored is so easy.

Hair loss is more serious for most people, but your not alone 20 million women suffer a significant amount of hair loss, 25% show some signs before they are forty and 60% of all women show some signs by menopause.

Gradual hairloss as a disease is known as alopecia areta or pattern baldness. Although each of us shed 50 to 100 hairs a day (they do regrow) it is normally not noticeable (we have over 100,000 hairs on our heads), actual hairloss is different, if you feel you have greater than normal hair loss then make an appointment with your doctor straight away, they can at least put your mind at rest, at best they may be able to tell you the cause of your hairloss and help you cure it. Many doctors will not have a great deal of experience when dealing with hairloss, and will diagnose most hairloss problems as hereditary, if you are in any doubt over their diagnoses then as always its best to seek a second opinion, preferably from a specialist (known as a tricologist).
